Fat of the Land to Open Second Location at Irvine's Centerview

Irvine’s Airport Area is adding a new social anchor to its growing commercial landscape as the acclaimed tapas concept Fat of the Land prepares to open its second location. The restaurant, scheduled for a July debut at the Centerview office campus, aims to bridge the gap between business amenities and neighborhood dining.

The expansion marks a strategic shift for restaurateur Robert Paetz, who built the brand’s reputation in Santa Ana by prioritizing an immersive, shareable dining experience. The new space at 2010 Main, Suite 170, will feature a design palette of marble finishes, dramatic lighting, and vintage-inspired textures, tailored to accommodate everything from casual date nights to professional gatherings.

EMMES Realty Services, which manages the property alongside Oaktree Capital Management, views the addition as a cornerstone of its broader plan to transform traditional office environments into lifestyle-oriented destinations. By integrating high-end hospitality directly into the workplace footprint, developers are attempting to attract both corporate tenants and local residents. According to Justin Nguyen, executive vice president of asset management at EMMES, the goal is to cultivate a "third space" that remains active beyond standard business hours. Paetz confirmed that while the menu will retain signature dishes from the original location, the Irvine site will debut seasonal and exclusive offerings designed specifically for the local community.
