Vertuno will manage a significant portfolio of assets, including The CORE Institute and The CORE Institute Specialty Hospital in Phoenix, alongside Elevation Surgery Center and Northern Arizona Orthopaedics in Flagstaff. Her background includes a recent tenure as CEO of HCA Florida JFK North Hospital, where she oversaw clinical expansion and financial growth across multiple service lines, ranging from orthopedics to behavioral health. Dr. Wael Barsoum, HOPCo’s President and Chief Transformation Officer, noted that Vertuno’s experience in navigating complex organizational structures and fostering physician partnerships makes her uniquely qualified to advance the company’s mission.

During her time in Florida, Vertuno earned the Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for Healthcare Executive of the Year from the American College of Healthcare Executives. Her career is marked by a focus on clinical excellence and operational accountability. As she transitions to the Arizona market, Vertuno plans to build upon the existing foundation of the company’s integrated care model, emphasizing collaboration between clinical teams and operational leadership to improve patient outcomes.
