Alpha School Documentary Examines the Future of Human-Led Education

As artificial intelligence permeates the classroom, a new documentary, Teachers 2.0, challenges the assumption that technology will replace educators. The film, premiering July 9, 2026, focuses on which aspects of the learning experience must remain fundamentally human while AI manages repetitive and bureaucratic tasks.

The virtual watch party, scheduled from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. PT, will feature a panel discussion led by Alpha School co-founder MacKenzie Price and Teach For America founder Wendy Kopp. They will be joined by education consultant Samantha DePalo, behavioral scientist Matthew Shenker, and Florida Principal of the Year Christie Ray to debate how AI integration can actually preserve vital human interactions like mentorship and emotional support.

Price argues that the current discourse surrounding AI in schools is misaligned. Rather than focusing on job displacement, she contends that automation provides an opportunity to strip away administrative burdens, allowing teachers to focus on student motivation and belief-building. The documentary highlights educators actively reimagining their roles to foster critical life skills that digital interfaces cannot replicate. Following the live premiere and Q&A session, the film will be available for public streaming on the Alpha School YouTube channel.
