Amtech Targets Margin Pressure with New Hand Assembly Software Suite

As containerboard costs climb, corrugated manufacturers are turning to high-margin contract packaging to shield their bottom lines. Amtech is responding to this industry shift by launching an integrated software suite designed to centralize the complex workflows of hand assembly, kitting, and value-add fulfillment services under a single digital roof.

The new suite, integrated directly into Amtech’s EnCore and Advanced Planning Board platforms, replaces fragmented spreadsheets and disparate third-party databases. It offers two distinct operational levels: EnCore Assembled Products, which manages kits and displays, and EnCore Contract Packaging, which handles more intricate co-manufacturing needs such as component tracking, line reconciliation, and audit support.

By unifying these services, plants gain precise visibility into crew sizing and person-hour requirements. Schedulers can now synchronize converting production with downstream assembly tasks, eliminating the efficiency gaps common in traditional manual tracking. Danna Nelson, SVP of Products at Amtech, noted that the solution was developed through direct industry collaboration to simplify the execution of value-add services. This expansion allows manufacturers to broaden their commercial offerings while reducing the operational complexity of managing customer-supplied materials and multi-stage assembly lines.
