The new center serves as the hub for Reju’s research team, previously based at IBM’s Almaden Research Center in San Jose, where the company’s signature Volcat depolymerization process was pioneered. By co-locating with Technip Energies’ Advanced Materials and Catalysts division, the team gains immediate access to established expertise in catalysis and process engineering. This synergy is designed to bridge the gap between laboratory concepts and the deployment of the company's future 'Regeneration Hubs.'

Gregory Breyta, Director of Research & Development at Reju, noted the facility will oversee a broad spectrum of projects, ranging from early-stage polyester recycling trials to the development of complex mixed-fabric solutions. The lab aims to accelerate the iteration cycle required to turn post-consumer textile waste into high-quality raw materials. This expansion complements Reju’s existing footprint, which includes the Regeneration Hub Zero in Frankfurt and planned sites in the Netherlands, France, and Rochester, New York.
