Dataknox Launches AI Hardware Maintenance to Bypass OEM Obsolescence

As supply chain constraints throttle the availability of new AI hardware, Newark-based Dataknox Solutions is launching a third-party maintenance program to keep aging infrastructure functional. The service targets equipment reaching end-of-life status from manufacturers like NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD, offering companies a path to avoid costly, premature equipment refreshes.

CEO Ankush Dham noted that many organizations purchased expensive AI hardware during periods of inflated pricing and supply shortages. By shifting to independent maintenance, these firms can keep existing, high-performance systems in operation beyond the support windows set by original equipment manufacturers. Dataknox claims that its clients typically reduce annual maintenance expenses by 40% or more through this model.

The new offering extends the company’s existing infrastructure support to specialized AI compute and storage environments. Dataknox currently manages over 125,000 servers globally, providing 24/7 coverage with flexible service-level agreements. These contracts include price lock guarantees and opt-out clauses, distinguishing the service from standard vendor renewals. This expansion follows the release of the company’s industry guide on navigating hardware supply constraints, which emphasizes infrastructure lifecycle management as a primary strategy for maintaining operational stability in a seller’s market.
