Sigla Invests in Procurement Specialist Bredehorst Clinic Medical Management

Düsseldorf-based Bredehorst Clinic Medical Management has secured a strategic investment from European private equity firm Sigla. The partnership aims to accelerate the digitisation and expansion of the procurement specialist, which currently supports German hospitals and care facilities through a proprietary database of over five million invoice-level data points.

Founded in 2006, BCMM holds a distinct position in the German healthcare sector as the only provider covering all non-personnel cost categories. With a team of approximately 60 specialists, the firm has completed over 180 engagements for prominent hospital groups, helping them navigate supply chain complexities and rising inflation. The company’s model relies on two decades of accumulated invoice data to drive measurable savings and procurement quality.

Sigla, backed by the Swedish investment house Nordstjernan AB, brings three decades of combined healthcare investing experience to the table. Managing Partners Karl Geisel and Phil Lesjak identified BCMM as a target due to its proven market leadership and deep category expertise. The capital injection from Sigla Fund I will be directed toward scaling the company’s internal capacity, enhancing its technology backbone, and broadening the scope of its service offerings. According to BCMM co-founders Kim Königer and Philipp Wenning, the collaboration is a vital step in evolving from simple cost reduction toward a more comprehensive digital infrastructure for purchasing decisions.
