Battery Metal Prices Stabilize in China Markets

Benchmark Mineral Intelligence reports that lithium carbonate currently trades at $22,600 per metric ton, anchoring a week of price data from Chinese industrial hubs. These figures reflect the latest mid-price valuations for essential battery materials, highlighting the ongoing cost pressures facing manufacturers across the electric vehicle supply chain.

Lithium hydroxide, essential for high-nickel battery chemistries, follows closely at $20,800 per metric ton. Meanwhile, cobalt sulphate holds at $11,981 per metric ton, and nickel sulphate is priced at $4,631 per metric ton. Flake graphite, the final major component listed, trades at $425 per metric ton.

The frequency of these updates varies by commodity. Benchmark Mineral Intelligence updates the valuations for lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide, and cobalt sulphate on a weekly basis, while nickel sulphate pricing shifts every two weeks. Flake graphite data is refreshed monthly. All figures represent ex-works pricing in China, measured in US dollars per metric ton.
