Longsys Scales mSSD Production to One Million Units Monthly

Suzhou-based Longsys has reached a critical manufacturing milestone, scaling its facility to produce one million micro SSD units each month. This rapid expansion, achieved just eight months after the initial production rollout, positions the company to meet the surging demand for high-density storage in edge AI hardware.

The breakthrough centers on the company’s adoption of System-in-Package (SiP) architecture, which consolidates controllers, NAND flash, and power management into a single, compact unit. By bypassing traditional PCB-based designs, the manufacturer has significantly improved space efficiency and production throughput. This infrastructure now supports high-performance PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 solutions, with the latter utilizing advanced vapor chamber cooling to manage heat in intensive AI workloads.

Since the first samples emerged from the Suzhou plant in October 2025, Longsys has secured partnerships with major industry players including Lenovo and ASUS. Beyond hardware, the company is deploying its proprietary SPU, iSA, and HLCache technologies to create a vertically integrated ecosystem for intelligent storage. With the architecture already compatible with upcoming PCIe Gen6 specifications, the company is positioning its packaging technology to serve consumer, industrial, and automotive sectors as edge AI hardware continues to evolve.
