iTmethods Joins Linux Foundation to Shape Regulated AI Governance

Toronto-based iTmethods has secured Silver membership in the Linux Foundation, signaling a strategic push to standardize governance for autonomous AI. By aligning with FINOS and the Agentic AI Foundation, the firm aims to integrate runtime control and tamper-evident evidence into the open-source frameworks governing financial institutions.

As banks and insurers transition agentic AI from experimental pilots to live production, the burden of proof is shifting. Institutions now require rigorous, automated assurance to satisfy regulatory scrutiny. iTmethods is positioning its Continuous Agentic Assurance layer as the industry solution for this challenge, enabling firms to maintain oversight while swapping models under pressure.

The company is integrating its expertise directly into the Linux Foundation’s broader ecosystem. This includes active participation in the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS) and the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), which is currently developing the Model Context Protocol. By applying runtime governance to platforms like the FINOS-hosted Fluxnova, iTmethods intends to bridge the gap between abstract compliance requirements and operational reality.

Olivier Poupeney, Field CTO at FINOS, noted that the industry's focus is currently on building a Governance-as-Code pipeline. According to iTmethods CEO Paul Goldman, the primary objective is to provide the missing operator perspective, proving exactly what an autonomous agent executes in complex, high-stakes environments. Through this collaboration, the company aims to ensure that open standards define the baseline for trust in the agentic era.
