Casio Refines Utility with Monochrome G-SHOCK Luxe Black Series

Casio America is pivoting toward a more polished aesthetic with the launch of the Luxe Black Collection. By blending signature shock-resistant engineering with high-contrast, vapor-deposited finishes, the brand aims to transition its iconic analog-digital silhouettes from rugged utility tools to refined accessories suitable for evening wear.

The new lineup, which includes the GA2100LXB-1A and GA2100LXB-1A9 alongside the metal-bezel GM2100LXB-1A and GM2100LXB-1A9, emphasizes a minimalist, light-absorbing design language. Designers utilized micro-textured dials and slim indexes to achieve a restrained appearance, while vapor deposition on the glass provides a subtle metallic sheen. The collection effectively balances these aesthetic updates with the durability required by the G-SHOCK heritage, retaining features such as 200-meter water resistance, a hand shift function, and a double LED Super Illuminator.

Each model offers a distinct take on the monochromatic theme through varied color accents. The silver-toned markers provide a neutral brilliance, while the 1A9 variants incorporate rich gold-toned detailing to elevate the watch face. Priced at $145 for the GA series and $260 for the GM metal-bezel versions, the watches are currently available through G-SHOCK.com, the SoHo retail location, and authorized national outlets.
