America Works Targets 250 Job Placements for U.S. Semiquincentennial

To mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, national workforce development firm America Works is launching a targeted hiring campaign. The initiative aims to secure long-term employment for 250 individuals, underscoring the organization’s four-decade mission of connecting vulnerable populations to the labor market through performance-based placements.

The 250 Hires Initiative serves as a high-visibility platform to showcase the organization’s results-driven model. By focusing on rapid placement and individualized support, the firm addresses employment barriers for veterans, individuals with disabilities, and those transitioning from welfare or homelessness. Since its founding in 1984, the company has built a record of success validated by institutions such as the Manhattan Institute and the Fraser Institute, which have highlighted its efficacy in sustaining long-term employment and welfare exits.

Dr. Lee Bowes, co-founder and CEO, noted that employment remains the most effective pathway to independence. The initiative is not merely a commemorative effort but a continuation of a strategy that currently achieves a 70% retention rate for its clients. According to Marsha Netus, regional director for Maryland and Washington, D.C., the campaign aims to demonstrate the transformative power of steady work in a way that remains both measurable and deeply personal for the communities involved.
