Rokid contributed both financial support and hardware, providing their AI-powered smart glasses to the innovation hub. This move signals a push to bring the company's existing accessibility features, which currently assist users in China with object identification and text reading, to international markets by late 2026.

Irene Long, Rokid’s Head of Global Operations for the EU and US, emphasized that accessibility must be a core component of wearable technology as AI glasses become more common. The Louis Braille Campus, founded in 2024 by four major non-profit organizations including apiDV and the Association Valentin Haüy, serves as a research center focused on human-centered design rather than traditional medical interventions. By integrating these research efforts with Rokid’s hardware, the two entities seek to address mobility and education challenges for visually impaired individuals through augmented reality.
