The upcoming transfer represents the third portion of a €5 billion assistance package designed to stabilize the nation's economy. According to Abdelatty, the remaining €3 billion will follow in two equal tranches of €1.5 billion, with the final payment expected to reach Cairo by the start of autumn.
Brussels has already disbursed €2 billion under this specific financial arrangement, split into two equal installments delivered earlier in 2025. This funding serves as a central pillar of a broader €7.4 billion agreement finalized in 2024, which encompasses a mix of concessional loans and economic aid aimed at bolstering Egypt's fiscal position.
