For TransMedics, the move is a practical necessity to scale its Organ Care System (OCS) perfusion technology, which preserves donor lung, heart, and liver viability during transit. Waleed Hassanein, President and CEO of TransMedics, stated that the collaboration is designed to increase the utilization of donor organs by overcoming traditional logistics barriers. PAD Aviation, founded in 2006, brings extensive experience in time-critical aviation and maintains a valid EASA Air Operator Certificate, providing the regulatory and operational foundation needed to support complex, cross-border transplant missions.
