Airbus Secures U.S. Border Patrol Helicopter Contract

Ten H125 helicopters are headed to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection fleet after the agency finalized a purchase agreement with Airbus. The aircraft will bolster the aviation wing’s capacity for law enforcement, border security, and public safety missions, marking a significant expansion of the agency’s aerial capabilities.

These single-engine helicopters are engineered for challenging conditions, specifically high-altitude and high-heat environments. Beyond their new role in border enforcement, the H125 model is a staple in emergency medical services, aerial transport, and utility work.

Though Airbus maintains its global headquarters in Europe, the order will be fulfilled domestically. The helicopters are scheduled for production at the company’s manufacturing facility in Columbus, Mississippi, supporting the ongoing operations of the Air and Marine Operations division.
