AT&T and Connected Nation to Target Guinness World Record for Digital Literacy

To mark its 25th anniversary, the nonprofit Connected Nation plans to set a Guinness World Record for the longest internet literacy live stream. The initiative, titled "25 Hours. One Connected World," will launch September 24, 2026, with AT&T serving as the lead collaborator to promote global digital skills training.

The event aims to address the global digital divide by providing 25 consecutive hours of expert-led instruction. To secure the record, the live stream must maintain continuous broadcasting with no interruptions exceeding one minute and sustain a minimum of 50 concurrent viewers throughout the duration. The curriculum covers essential competencies, including online safety, AI applications, and professional job-search tools.

Mylayna Albright, AT&T’s Vice President of Corporate Responsibility, stated that the partnership focuses on ensuring individuals possess the practical skills to utilize high-speed connectivity effectively. Connected Nation CEO Tom Ferree added that bridging the digital gap requires more than infrastructure; it demands a concerted effort to teach users how to navigate the internet securely and identify economic opportunities. The stream will be accessible globally, encouraging participation from home users and local host sites to foster a broader movement for digital empowerment.
