KeyLogic Leads Pennsylvania Energy Infrastructure Redevelopment Study

The PATER initiative arrives as Pennsylvania faces a surge in electricity demand driven by advanced manufacturing. The study, scheduled for completion in early 2027, will provide a decision-ready framework for the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and PJM Interconnection to prioritize transmission investments. By characterizing deactivated generation sites through technical, economic, and community lenses, the team intends to transform legacy assets into engines for regional development.

Dr. Brian Anderson, Executive VP of Team KeyLogic, noted that the effort brings national lab-caliber analytics to the Commonwealth’s infrastructure planning. Collaborating with the non-profit research group EPRI, the team will integrate advanced modeling with real-world transmission strategies. This approach balances the retirement of older power plants with the urgent need for expanded grid capacity, ensuring that future infrastructure decisions are backed by rigorous, data-driven analysis.
