T-Mobile Reshuffles Leadership to Target AI and Enterprise Growth

After two decades shaping network infrastructure at AT&T, Chris Sambar is returning to telecommunications to head T-Mobile’s enterprise division. His appointment marks the centerpiece of a broad executive restructuring aimed at aggressively expanding the company’s footprint in artificial intelligence, advertising, and business-facing services.

T-Mobile Reshuffles Leadership to Target AI and Enterprise Growth

Sambar joins T-Mobile no later than October 14, stepping away from his recent role as chief operating officer at Public Storage. His mandate at the carrier involves scaling the company’s business customer portfolio, a move that coincides with a wider realignment of T-Mobile’s internal reporting structure.

As part of this transition, André Almeida shifts from his oversight of enterprise and broadband to become chief marketing, brand and broadband officer, where he will partner with COO John Freier. Concurrently, the company is consolidating its network, technology, product engineering, and cybersecurity divisions under CTO John Saw. These changes follow the departure of Michael Katz, the current chief business and product officer, who exits his operational role on July 8 but will remain on board as a strategic adviser through the end of the year.
