The delivery schedule begins in October 2027, with the remaining two aircraft slated to arrive in the first and second quarters of 2028. These units will integrate into China Southern's existing fleet of 777 freighters, utilizing the GE90 engine platform to maintain operational consistency across their long-haul network.
Aengus Kelly, CEO of AerCap, noted that the deal reaffirms the company's long-standing relationship with the Chinese carrier. For China Southern, the acquisition aligns with a broader strategy to expand its international reach and strengthen its dual-hub operations in Shanghai and Guangzhou. Li Xiao, Chairman of CSA Logistics, described the agreement as a milestone in the airline's fleet evolution, intended to support the demand for efficient, high-payload global air freight services.
