Smith & Vinson Law Firm pivots to full-service personal injury

After years of building a reputation in Central Texas for aggressive criminal defense, the Austin-based firm Smith & Vinson is shifting its focus toward a full-service personal injury practice. Partners Jarrod Smith and Brad Vinson intend to apply their trial-tested litigation strategies to accident victims across the region.

The firm, which maintains offices in Austin, Georgetown, and San Marcos, is betting that its courtroom-heavy approach will resonate with clients navigating complex civil litigation. By expanding into personal injury, the practice now handles a broad spectrum of cases ranging from car and motorcycle accidents to wrongful death and premises liability claims. The partners emphasize that this transition is a logical progression of their original mission to provide relentless advocacy during high-stakes personal crises.

Jarrod Smith noted that clients facing devastating injuries require the same level of meticulous preparation as those confronting criminal charges. To support this growth, the firm is currently investing in new legal talent and additional resources to bolster its capacity in Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties. While the firm continues to maintain its criminal defense roots, the move signals a clear intent to capture a larger share of the local civil litigation market by leveraging a history of multimillion-dollar recoveries in complex injury and civil rights matters.
