The procedure involves injecting a compounded dutasteride solution directly into thinning scalp areas to address androgenetic alopecia. By localizing the medication, the clinic aims to concentrate the effect while minimizing the systemic exposure typically associated with daily oral treatments. Because of the medication's longer half-life, patients also benefit from a less frequent treatment schedule compared to traditional finasteride regimens.
Dr. Roy Stoller, a double board-certified surgeon at the institute, noted that the therapy provides a precise alternative to oral medication that targets hair loss at the source. His colleague, Dr. Kuldeep Singh, added that the option has quickly become a cornerstone for patients who are not yet candidates for surgery or who seek to bolster results following a transplant. Since the rollout, the clinic has treated over a dozen individuals, drawing from a patient base that spans the Midwest via their "Hair by Air" travel program.
