The company’s revenue fell to ¥18.34 billion for the three quarters, down from ¥22.64 billion in the prior-year period. This decline directly impacted the bottom line, shifting the firm from a robust profit to an operating deficit. According to the financial statement, Hokuetsu Metal recorded an operating loss of ¥181 million, compared to an operating profit of ¥562 million a year ago.
Financial Performance Metrics
The downturn extended to pretax figures, where the company reported a loss of ¥84 million. This stands in contrast to the ¥664 million pretax profit seen in 2024. On a per-share basis, the company saw a loss of ¥30.11, a significant drop from the earnings of ¥109.15 per share reported previously.The results, which are based on Japanese accounting standards, underscore the volatility currently facing the regional manufacturing sector. Despite the revenue slump, the company continues to navigate a shifting landscape for metal production and industrial supply chains.
