The initiative targets the widening gap between clinical care and the strained resources of community shelters. By providing consistent financial injections, Virbac aims to support the daily operations of rescues and nonprofits that provide second chances for animals. According to Giovanni Abruzzini, CEO and President of Virbac U.S., the program is designed to validate the impact of smaller, recurring investments in local animal health.
To mark the $500,000 threshold, the company doubled its May donation amounts, awarding $5,000 each to Southern Comfort Animal Rescue in Tarrytown, Georgia, and BAGS Basset Rescue in Minerva, Ohio. Public nominations for future recipients remain open through the company’s digital portal, allowing community members to highlight organizations in need of funding.
