The deployment integrates Scientific Games’ central gaming and retailer management systems, replacing legacy infrastructure to improve security and operational efficiency. Executive Director Alec Thomson noted that the upgrade aims to drive future growth by offering players increased value and expanded gameplay options. Central to this shift is the revamped 'The Pick' game, which now features automatic multipliers and an instant-win add-on. The state has also introduced midday drawings for 'Pick 3' and 'Pick 4', alongside the 'Powerball Double Play' feature, which offers a secondary chance at a $10 million prize.
Supporting these changes is an upgraded version of the company’s gem | suite software, which manages licensing and business intelligence for the lottery’s vast retail network. John Schulz, President of Americas & Global Instant Products at Scientific Games, emphasized that the implementation is part of a long-term strategy to sustain revenue for Arizona's public benefit programs. Since 1981, the lottery has generated over $5.9 billion for initiatives in higher education, environmental conservation, and health services.
