The Region 8 Mobile Crisis Partnership establishes a unified behavioral health infrastructure, covering Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Jackson, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, Union, and West Carroll. Under the new agreement, NEDHSA will manage strategic oversight, compliance, and quality assurance, while Growing Hope Recovery acts as the primary operational arm. Their teams will deploy professionals to provide immediate intervention for adults facing substance use or mental health emergencies.
Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, executive director of NEDHSA, described the initiative as a fundamental departure from existing reliance on hospitals and police, focusing instead on embedding trained responders within the community. Growing Hope founder Cecilia Sullivan noted that the program is designed to bridge significant gaps in the current continuum of care. By aligning with local hospitals, EMS, and insurance providers, the system intends to ensure that patients receive appropriate, low-acuity care pathways rather than immediate institutionalization. This launch marks a significant expansion for NEDHSA, which has spent recent years scaling its regional footprint in harm reduction and integrated healthcare services.
