The initiative aims to provide students with a mix of academic support, enrichment activities, and physical education at no cost to families. This expansion marks a significant step in the district's strategy to bolster student success beyond traditional classroom hours. District leaders selected the organization following an evaluation process that included site visits to communities with similar demographics and educational needs.
Katy Wallace, Director of District Partnerships at Think Together, noted that the organization has already begun engaging with the local community through events at Arellanes Junior High and Taylor Elementary. Superintendent Dr. Darren McDuffie emphasized that the partnership aligns with the district's commitment to fostering both social-emotional and academic progress. The move continues a period of rapid growth for Think Together, which has recently scaled its operations across the Central Valley, the Bay Area, and the Central Coast.
