The Compact outlines five core pillars aimed at modernizing youth development: universal AI literacy, the identification of essential human capabilities, scaled project-based learning, youth well-being, and a shift toward work-based recognition. According to Houston Hou, the organization’s Global Executive Convener, the initiative serves as an invitation to create new pathways where real ability can be trusted and connected to professional opportunities.

The launch brought together a coalition of leaders from the United Nations, academia, and youth-led innovation hubs. Notable participants included former UN Under-Secretary-General Fabrizio Hochschild and Minerva Project CEO Ben Nelson, alongside representatives from organizations such as AI Singapore and the International Trade Centre. Moving forward, the WYF plans to mobilize a network of universities and industry partners to implement these standards, connecting young talent with real-world challenges throughout the year.
