First Horizon Bank Gifts New Orleans Facility to United Way

A former First Horizon Bank branch on Canal Street now belongs to the United Way of Southeast Louisiana, marking a permanent shift for the organization’s Prosperity Center. The donation aims to anchor the nonprofit’s efforts in economic mobility and financial counseling within a long-term, dedicated physical space in the city.

The facility at 4011 Canal Street will serve as the new home for the J. Wayne Leonard Prosperity Center, a hub providing workforce development, housing counseling, and tax preparation services. For United Way, the acquisition removes barriers to scaling these resources, turning a commercial banking site into a community-focused gateway for families seeking financial stability.

Tony Adams, Gulf States Regional President for First Horizon Bank, described the move as a commitment to the region’s long-term infrastructure. Meghan Donelon, who chairs the United Way board for 2026–2027, noted that the organization had already been utilizing the space, making the transfer a logical step in solidifying their local presence. Michael Williamson, President and CEO of United Way of Southeast Louisiana, characterized the gift as a transformative milestone that secures the center's capacity to serve future generations.
