New 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act Signed Into Law

The American Land Title Association (ALTA) formally endorsed the act, praising congressional leaders including Chairman Tim Scott and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren for reaching a consensus. ALTA CEO Chris Morton described the law as a vital step toward securing generational wealth for homeowners, noting that the industry remains committed to the safeguards that verify property rights.

As the administration shifts toward implementation, ALTA is emphasizing the need to maintain rigorous protections against fraud and title defects. Morton stressed that because a home represents the largest investment for most households, the role of title professionals in mitigating risk remains essential. The association plans to continue collaborating with federal policymakers to combat real estate crime while further expanding access to sustainable homeownership.
