New Lawsuit Filed as E. coli Outbreak Strains California Kebab Chain

Two children are among those fighting for their lives after an E. coli O157 outbreak linked to beef kofta at The Kebab Shop. With at least nine infections confirmed across California, Marler Clark has filed another lawsuit, signaling a widening legal battle over the safety of the restaurant's supply chain.

The California Department of Public Health pinpointed seasoned beef kofta as the source of the pathogen, prompting the restaurant chain to cease sourcing from its implicated supplier. Of the nine confirmed cases, five victims required hospitalization, with two children developing hemolytic uremic syndrome, a severe complication capable of causing permanent kidney damage or death.

William D. Marler, managing partner at the firm, emphasized that the legal focus remains on securing accountability for the families affected. While the investigation into the contamination continues, the firm is actively reviewing additional cases to determine the full scope of the illnesses. Health officials urge anyone who consumed food at the chain during the outbreak window and experienced symptoms to seek medical evaluation immediately.
