By integrating the Alma, Primo, and Rapido solutions, Abes will consolidate its national union catalog and interlibrary loan services into a single, AI-powered interface. The transition marks a strategic pivot toward a linked-data model, ensuring that the network’s 15 million bibliographic records are discoverable through modern international standards.
Bar Veinstein, President of Academia & Government at Clarivate, noted that the platform is engineered to address the specific interoperability requirements of the French research community. For Abes, the selection represents a pragmatic response to tightening budgetary constraints. The agency emphasized that the partnership provides the necessary efficiency to maintain high-quality public services while optimizing the allocation of state funds. This agreement expands Clarivate's footprint in the region, building on existing deployments at 70 other French academic institutions.
