MDT Launches HFM2905 Probe for High-Frequency Magnetic Analysis

Engineers can now visualize magnetic signals reaching 1.6MHz with the new HFM2905 probe from MultiDimension Technology. By integrating TMR sensing technology with BNC analog outputs, the device offers a portable solution for capturing fast-changing waveforms in power electronics, EMI debugging, and industrial research environments.

The HFM2905 closes a critical gap for researchers who previously struggled to observe high-frequency events using standard low-frequency magnetometers. Designed to function from DC up to 1.6MHz, the probe provides direct connectivity to oscilloscopes or data acquisition systems, allowing for immediate visualization of frequency, amplitude, and complex magnetic field waveforms.

To ensure versatility across varying signal environments, the unit features five selectable gain settings—ranging from 1× to 20×—alongside adjustable low-pass filters at 1kHz, 100kHz, and 1.6MHz. The instrument draws power directly from a USB port, eliminating the need for bulky external power supplies. For precision-critical applications, MDT includes a dedicated calibration fixture equipped with a stripline and current transformer, enabling users to maintain measurement traceability directly on-site.

This tool is positioned for use in fields such as switching power supply design, motor drive analysis, and wireless power transfer research. By leveraging its proprietary Tunneling Magnetoresistance technology, MDT aims to provide a balance of high sensitivity and wide bandwidth, catering to both laboratory-grade research and demanding industrial testing scenarios.
