This technology targets human α-lactalbumin, a protein typically associated with lactation that appears in certain aggressive breast cancers, including triple-negative variants. By utilizing a retired protein strategy, the vaccine aims to prime the immune system to prevent tumor formation without damaging healthy tissue. Recent Phase 1 trial data, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, showed the vaccine met primary safety endpoints and generated immune responses in over 74% of participants.
