Inturai Partners with Pathkey to Develop Edge-Based Drone Swarm C2

Vancouver-based Inturai Ventures has signed a memorandum of understanding with Australia’s Pathkey Limited to engineer drone swarm command-and-control systems. The collaboration focuses on moving autonomous decision-making from the cloud to onboard edge silicon, targeting high-stakes requirements in defense and emergency response through specialized FPGA-based hardware.

The partnership leverages Pathkey’s Singapore-based subsidiary, Chipforge, to develop a communication and coordination module capable of managing path planning, collision avoidance, and autonomous task allocation. By processing data directly on FPGA hardware, the companies aim to provide low-latency operational intelligence for environments where traditional network connectivity is unreliable or denied. This move represents a strategic expansion for Inturai, building upon its recent acquisition of DomeCommand to broaden its footprint in the defense and autonomous systems sectors.

Integrating AI-native sensing capabilities directly into hardware allows for faster deployment in tactical scenarios, moving beyond the company’s previous focus on RF presence and vital-signs monitoring. The collaboration also establishes a bridge for Inturai into the Asia-Pacific security market, aligning the firm with an ASX-listed semiconductor group. Both parties are now working toward definitive agreements to formalize development timelines and commercial terms for the hardware-accelerated platform.
