Withings Launches BodyScan 2 in the US to Target Preventive Longevity

Priced at $599.95, the Withings BodyScan 2 arrives in the US market as a high-end home health station. Designed to bridge the gap between daily weight tracking and clinical-grade diagnostics, the device offers localized body composition analysis and cardiovascular insights intended to shift users toward proactive, long-term health management.

The device features a retractable handle equipped with an HD display, allowing users to view data in real time without relying solely on a smartphone app. Functionally, the hardware splits into two distinct modes: a 30-second daily scan for standard metrics like weight and vascular age, and a 90-second weekly longevity scan. The latter incorporates more complex readings, including a 6-lead ECG, nerve response scores, and blood oxygen levels, aiming to provide a comprehensive picture of how lifestyle choices impact aging over time.

Technically, the scale utilizes a 13-frequency bioimpedance spectroscopy system to provide granular, zone-specific data for six body segments. By measuring fat and muscle mass independently in the limbs and trunk, Withings intends to offer a level of precision previously limited to expensive clinical equipment. While the device is FSA/HSA eligible, the company notes that its advanced features—such as glucose resilience tracking and heart age estimation—are integrated into the Withings+ subscription service, which requires a separate monthly fee after an initial trial.
