The new product line features eight distinct tag configurations, providing one of the industry's most extensive selections for space-constrained applications. By utilizing ISO15693-compliant technology and chips from providers like NXP and STMicroelectronics, the tags remain functional while occupying a footprint smaller than a pencil eraser. This miniaturization allows brands to implement digital product passports, authenticity verification, and lifecycle tracking without altering the physical aesthetics or utility of the host item.
Dr. Manfred Mueller, CSO of Identiv, emphasized that this evolution moves digital connectivity into environments where space limitations previously rendered RFID impractical. Beyond simple tracking, the implementation supports complex workflows including sterilization monitoring in healthcare, anti-counterfeiting measures for luxury goods, and tap-to-pair functionality for electronics. Identiv is currently offering these tags alongside technical support for integration, prototyping, and large-scale manufacturing to assist companies in navigating the specific RF performance challenges inherent in such small-scale designs.
