The Halo Core addresses the fundamental design flaws of traditional stand mixers. By utilizing a rotating bowl paired with a variable-speed spiral dough hook and a removable breaker bar, the unit mimics the dual-kneading action found in commercial bakeries. This process stretches dough effectively without the heat buildup that plagues conventional appliances. The machine handles up to six pounds of dough—enough for ten 12-inch pizzas or three large sourdough loaves—across 20 speed settings ranging from 60 to 300 RPM.
Founder Kristian Tapaninaho emphasizes that the company’s goal is to provide home bakers with the same mechanical advantage used by professionals. Beyond bread and pizza dough, the device includes a dual-geared whisk and a silicone-edge beater for lighter tasks like meringues and batters. Measuring 25% smaller and 30% lighter than the previous Halo Pro model, the unit is intended to fit seamlessly into standard kitchen layouts. Starting August 4, the Halo Core will retail for $599 in Polar White and Foundry Black finishes through Ooni’s website and major retailers including Williams Sonoma, Target, Crate & Barrel, and Home Depot.
