CPC Biotech Launches One-Inch Sterile Disconnect for Bioprocessing

Operators in biopharmaceutical manufacturing can now disconnect large-scale fluid lines in seconds without specialized equipment. CPC Biotech’s new RevolveSD Series introduces a one-inch, single-use sterile disconnect designed to eliminate the need for traditional clamps and sealers, effectively reducing both setup time and the risk of contamination in critical production environments.

The RevolveSD Series, developed by the Downers Grove-based manufacturer, utilizes a durable polyphenylsulfone construction that withstands the harsh chemicals often found in antibody drug conjugate manufacturing. By incorporating a metal-free, dual-valve design, the system minimizes residual fluid on external surfaces and ensures a smooth, bidirectional flow, which prevents the turbulence often associated with restrictive valve architectures.

Spencer Juola, product manager at CPC Biotech, noted that the system serves as a definitive one-time disconnect, preventing the risks associated with unintended reconnection. The product builds on the company’s existing AseptiQuik technology, aiming to simplify teardown complexities for large-scale facilities. By removing the requirement for external sealing tools, the device allows for rapid, secure fluid management, catering to the industry’s demand for high-flow, single-use efficiency.
