IntelliShift and TruckerCloud Link Telematics to Insurance Underwriting

Insurance carriers can now access real-time telematics and AI-driven video footage from IntelliShift fleets through a new partnership with TruckerCloud. By integrating granular driver behavior data into the underwriting process, the collaboration aims to replace generic industry risk averages with specific, performance-based safety profiles for commercial operators.

The integration connects IntelliShift’s fleet intelligence platform directly into TruckerCloud’s existing network, which serves as a data bridge between vehicle operators and the insurance industry. Carriers gain visibility into route patterns, GPS location, and AI-captured dash cam events, allowing for more precise risk assessment during policy renewals. For fleet managers, the shift means their internal safety investments can directly influence insurance premiums rather than relying on broad market benchmarks.

Spencer Mitchell, CEO of TruckerCloud, noted that the move provides insurers with a deeper understanding of operational habits beyond simple location tracking. Alex Castillo, Channel Sales Director at IntelliShift, added that the partnership ensures that businesses prioritizing safety receive tangible financial recognition from underwriters. The service is currently available to all existing IntelliShift customers and TruckerCloud’s insurance partners.
