AWS Compute Leader Dave Brown Steps Down After 19 Years

His exit marks a significant leadership transition for the tech giant, as he vacates his roles overseeing compute and machine learning services while serving in the elite S-team advisory circle.

AWS Compute Leader Dave Brown Steps Down After 19 Years

Brown will officially conclude his time at Amazon at the end of July to transition into a new role elsewhere. His departure triggers a strategic shift within the executive ranks, as he has been a central figure in advising CEO Andy Jassy on critical infrastructure decisions.

Dave Treadwell, the current senior vice president of eCommerce Foundation, is slated to assume Brown’s responsibilities effective August 1. AWS CEO Matt Garman addressed the transition in an internal note to employees, expressing confidence in the stability of the business and the strength of the team moving forward.
