CB&I Secures Kittiwake Platform Duty Holder Contract Through Decommissioning

CB&I’s Asset Solutions has finalized an agreement with EnQuest to maintain its role as Duty Holder for the Kittiwake asset in the UK North Sea. The contract extends the company's responsibilities beyond late-life management to oversee the platform's final cessation of production and eventual decommissioning process.

The deal cements a long-standing operational history, as the team has managed the platform since 2003. Serving as a production hub for the Greater Kittiwake Area, the asset has maintained a safety record spanning over two decades without a single lost-time incident. This consistency has been a central pillar of the partnership between the Aberdeen-based support staff and the offshore crew.

John Pearson, Chief Operating Officer of CB&I Asset Solutions, noted that the contract reflects the team's deep institutional knowledge of the platform. For EnQuest, the decision to retain CB&I leverages a unified approach to managing the technical challenges of the project’s final lifecycle phase. By optimizing late-life operations, the companies aim to ensure the platform remains both economically viable and safe until the infrastructure is retired.
