NxLite Secures $16.6 Million to Scale Energy-Efficient Coating Production

With an oversubscribed $13.1 million Series A and a new $3.5 million debt facility, Michigan-based NxLite has locked in $16.6 million to accelerate the manufacturing of its energy-efficient coatings. The funding round, which exceeded original targets by 42%, arrives as the company prepares to expand its Canton Township production capacity.

The final close of the Series A round follows an initial $9.2 million announcement in October 2025. Crabtree Lane Alt, LLC led the financing, which saw participation from a diverse group of climate-focused investors including VoLo Earth Ventures, Earth Foundry, and MUUS. The additional $3.5 million from RSF Social Finance provides non-dilutive capital specifically earmarked for scaling the company's Advanced Innovation & Manufacturing Center.

Alongside the financial injection, NxLite appointed Erin Sawyer to its board of directors. Formerly a key executive at Tesla and Wrightspeed, Sawyer brings extensive supply chain expertise to the company. Her arrival coincides with NxLite’s efforts to transition from validated pilot technology to full-scale commercial deployment across the window, refrigeration, and transportation sectors. David Mather, Chairman and CEO, credited the successful raise to the company's ability to de-risk its manufacturing processes and secure long-term commercial offtake agreements in a challenging investment climate.
