Wayfair Moves Black Friday to July With Five-Day Sales Event

Shoppers looking to bypass the November rush can access holiday-level discounts starting July 23, as Wayfair launches a five-day promotion featuring price cuts of up to 80% across its home goods catalog. The event marks a strategic shift to capture summer spending before the back-to-school and autumn seasons.

The sale runs through July 27, covering everything from sofas and dining tables to area rugs. Jon Blotner, president of commercial and operations at Wayfair, stated the initiative is designed to offer significant annual savings while helping customers refresh their living and workspaces ahead of the busy fall period. Beyond standard site-wide markdowns, the retailer is introducing rotating flash deals and specific "doorbuster" prices on select items, including a Sealy memory foam mattress for $369.99 and a Shark stick vacuum for $189.99.

Early access begins July 20 for Wayfair Rewards members and app users, providing a window to secure discounts before the broader public launch. In addition to online savings, the company is hosting physical events at Wayfair, AllModern, Birch Lane, and Joss & Main locations in Chicago, Atlanta, and Columbus, featuring raffles and localized promotions. To further incentivize purchases, Wayfair is offering free shipping sitewide, with white-glove delivery options available for larger items, ensuring furniture is assembled and placed in the room of choice at no extra cost.
