The combined entity will retain the American Elevator brand, drawing on a reputation built since the company’s 2008 founding in Anderson, Indiana. Darrin Middendorf, who has led American Elevator for nearly two decades, will remain in a key leadership role alongside Jason Aldridge, the head of ESI Indiana. The move is designed to scale operational resources while maintaining the independent, customer-focused culture that defines both firms.

Jason Vallee, CEO of ESI, noted that the partnership aligns with the parent company’s broader strategy of acquiring and integrating high-performing independent service providers. By pairing American Elevator’s specialization in non-proprietary equipment modernization with ESI Indiana’s expanding footprint in the Indianapolis market and Northern Indiana, the organization aims to solidify its presence across the state. The merger promises to deliver increased technical support and expanded service capacity for university, healthcare, and commercial property clients throughout the region.
