The largest recall involves 211,000 pairs of Cat & Jack children’s sandals sold by Target, which pose a choking hazard due to pearls that can detach from the footwear. Household stability also emerged as a major concern; over 116,000 Boon PIVOT collapsible toddler towers are being recalled following 11 reports of the units leaning or becoming unstable during use. Similar stability issues prompted a recall of 5,952 SDADI kitchen step stools, which have already been linked to four reported injuries, including cuts and bruises.
Fire and electrical hazards account for a significant portion of the remaining alerts. Houswise tabletop fire pits are under scrutiny for potential "flame jetting," while Panasonic has recalled 11,480 electric toaster ovens due to shock risks. Additionally, 7,200 Hollis diving regulators are being pulled from the market after 17 reports of inlet tube breakage, presenting a potential drowning risk to users. Other notable items include 7,000 copper cups found in Flashgitz lunch boxes due to lead poisoning concerns and various imported bed rails that violate federal safety standards for entrapment and asphyxiation.
Federal law strictly prohibits the sale or distribution of any product subject to these commission-ordered or voluntary recalls. Consumers are urged to cross-reference their household items against the full list provided on the agency's website and to cease using any equipment identified as defective immediately.
