GE HealthCare and Catholic Health Ink $500 Million Tech Alliance

A decade-long, $500 million agreement between GE HealthCare and Catholic Health aims to overhaul diagnostics across Long Island. The partnership will deploy over 1,300 pieces of advanced medical equipment, integrating AI-driven imaging and cloud-based workflow tools to modernize operations at more than 40 hospitals and outpatient facilities.

The rollout focuses on scaling cardiac imaging and nuclear medicine, specifically targeting upgrades at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center and Good Samaritan University Hospital. By transitioning to a multivendor service model, Catholic Health anticipates significant capital savings. These funds are earmarked for reinvestment in clinical programs and expanded patient access, moving away from traditional, fragmented purchasing cycles.

Nearly half of the new hardware, including MR, CT, and PET systems with on-device AI, will arrive within the next three years. Beyond physical infrastructure, the deal incorporates the Imaging 360 platform to unify radiology workflows and enable remote scanning. This strategy prioritizes long-term lifecycle management, aiming to stabilize equipment uptime and reduce maintenance overhead across the entire regional network.
