Arts & Letters Curriculum Secures Top Ratings from Independent Evaluators

With top marks from EdReports and a strong endorsement from The Reading League, the K–8 Arts & Letters curriculum has solidified its standing in the literacy market. These dual recognitions highlight the program's adherence to the Science of Reading and its focus on knowledge-building through high-quality literature and informational texts.

The EdReports assessment awarded the curriculum all-green ratings, signaling excellence in instructional coherence, text quality, and classroom support. Evaluators praised the program’s design, which integrates reading, discussion, and writing to foster evidence-based analysis. This result places Arts & Letters alongside other Great Minds offerings, such as Wit & Wisdom and Eureka Math, which have previously met the nonprofit’s rigorous standards.

Shortly before the EdReports findings, The Reading League also evaluated the curriculum, specifically highlighting its effectiveness for multilingual learners and its ability to connect rich content with structured literacy instruction. Great Minds CEO John White noted that these endorsements mirror positive feedback from educators, suggesting that the program’s focus on world knowledge and literary engagement directly impacts student achievement. Chief Learning and Product Officer Rebecca Kockler stated that the company plans to refine the program further by incorporating ongoing research and direct input from the classroom.
