The agreement outlines a multi-year program designed to bridge the gap between niche local production and mass-market distribution. By leveraging Temu’s marketplace alongside the established network of Start:up Slovenia—which manages the influential PODIM conference—the initiative aims to accelerate the international footprint of home-grown brands. Urban Lapajne, head of the Start:up Slovenia community, emphasized that while local startups consistently produce high-quality goods, the primary hurdle remains effective distribution. This partnership acts as a catalyst, providing founders with the tools to bypass traditional entry barriers.
Temu, which entered the Slovenian market in 2023, has been rapidly expanding its local infrastructure. Following the opening of its marketplace to Slovenian sellers in March 2026, the company secured a logistics deal with Pošta Slovenije in June to streamline delivery operations. This latest alignment with Start:up Slovenia completes the framework, combining logistical support with direct mentorship on how to scale operations for a European audience.
