HawkEye 360 and Lockheed Martin Integrate Commercial Data at Valiant Shield

During the Valiant Shield 2026 exercise, HawkEye 360 successfully tested a tactical direct downlink for signals intelligence, integrating commercial space-based data directly into Lockheed Martin’s edge processing systems to maintain high-precision target custody across contested blue-water environments in the Pacific.

The biennial training exercise, held from June 22 to July 1 across the Northern Mariana Islands and Japan, served as a proving ground for linking commercial RF collection with military command and control platforms. By feeding signals intelligence into Lockheed Martin’s CommandIQ system, the partnership enabled joint U.S. forces to cross-correlate commercial sensor data with existing tactical sources. This machine-to-machine pipeline allowed operators to track targets in Emission Controlled (EMCON) environments, where traditional electronic signatures are often difficult to maintain.

Todd Probert, Chief Operating Officer at HawkEye 360, noted that the demonstration successfully reduced latency while proving that commercial RF products can provide actionable intelligence for warfighters in real-time. By automating the ingestion of data, the collaboration aims to provide a scalable force multiplier for coalition operations, allowing decision-makers to maintain situational awareness across expansive maritime theaters. The success of this integration signals a shift toward utilizing agile, commercial sensing alongside fielded defense hardware to support multi-domain operations.
